MORE TIPS FOR SCARF CARE
Here’s another tip for keeping your silk scarf as soft and pliable as the day you got it. Silk will stiffen up when washed unless you follow the tips listed on the Ten Thousand Scarves website. I recommend washing your scarf with a few drops of sulfate free hair shampoo followed by soaking it in a capful of sulfate free hair conditioner. Be sure to rinse out both the shampoo and conditioner just as you would if you were washing your hair. Blot the scarf in a towel to soak up the excess water - again, just as you would if you were washing you hair. No need to twist or wring out the silk. Just roll it in a towel and gently squeeze. Then put your scarf in the dryer on AIR for about 15 minutes along with a dryer sheet. I’ve also found that adding a pair of rolled up socks, a tennis ball or a couple of dryer balls greatly helps the silk to soften up. Press with an iron on medium wash and wear setting.
